CXO Team

As expected, I have been reassigned from Vice President of Synergy under Strategic Portfolio Directorate, to Senior Principal Expert of Synergy within the CXO Office, effective yesterday. Today marks my first official meeting with the CXO, Dr M. Awaluddin, a distinguished authority on the quintuple-helix approach of technology-based strategic management.

My Last SBDP Meeting

The reorganisation of the SBDP Directorate is scheduled for today. I haven’t received the definitive information; but I suppose this is the last SBDP meeting I attended.
(I have no idea why there was an August 26 mark on the screen. But obviously today is September 1.)

After the meeting:

A Setneg Visit to Telkom

A benchmarking visit from the Ministry of State Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia to Telkom to discuss partnerships, collaborative innovation, and ecosystem development strategies; warmly received by Corcom, GSP, and Synergy teams.

Pra-Rapim I-2025

Representing Strategic Portfolio Directorate, yours truly presented Strategic Plan & Orchestration of Telkom Group in 2025.

Sociopreneurship Workshop

This week, I had the chance to attend a workshop in Bandung, part of the Entrepreneur Hub (EHUB) program organized by the Ministry MSME (KemenUMKM). The event, focusing on sociopreneurship, was opened by Siti Azizah, Deputy for Entrepreneurship, and Irwansyah Putra Panjaitan, Assistant Deputy for Business Ecosystem Development. The audience included social entrepreneurs, SMEs, and representatives from the West Java provincial government. It was an engaging session that shed light on how sociopreneurship is shaping the MSME economy.

Sociopreneurship is all about blending business strategies with a commitment to solving social problems. What makes it unique is that its performance is measured by the impact it creates on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Whether it’s tackling poverty, promoting education, or addressing environmental issues, sociopreneurship drives real-world solutions while building sustainable businesses.

On the regulatory side, the Indonesian government plays a vital role in creating policies that support the growth of these ventures, ensuring they thrive within a robust MSME ecosystem. Ultimately, sociopreneurship is a catalyst for economic and social empowerment, creating a ripple effect of positive change in communities.

Agree–Scala Pre-JV Agreement

Agricultural transformation is a great technological and business opportunities with huge challenges and risks, requiring strategic-level collaboration or alliance in aggregating the capabilities, resources, while sharing the business risks that may occur.

Scala, a Japanese digital enterprise aiming to enhance the prosperity of mankind through digital technology development, has requested since last year to be the strategic partner of Telkom Indonesia in developing digital platform-based agricultural business transformation. We have spent months — days and nights — to discuss the aspects of technology development, business arrangement, ecosystem empowerment, etc for this strategic alliance preparation. Today, 1 April 2024, the representative of Scala BOD has signed the Agreement with EVP of Telkom’s Digital Business & Technology.

After the signing, we will follow up the agreement with some piloting (also in Leadership Transformation called the quick-wins) as a foundation for the collaborative transformation framework. We’ll see in the next months.

BBI Lampung

Welcome to Tegal Mas Island in Lampung Province. Here we were attending the June edition of Gernas BBI, organised by Ministry of Industry and the Indonesian top brands, including Telkom Indonesia.

This event was attended by Coord Minister of Maritime & Investment, Mr Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, as the key speaker.

The main event here — at least for me personally — was the Coordinative Meeting (Rakor) of P3DN program, also led by Mr Luhut. Here Telkom got more roles in the nationwide P3DN program, after proving our commitment to the program in the last months. We’ll talk about it later, but not here. This is not my main blog, anyway :).

On the Garuda flight home, I got a seat just beside Mr Sudarto, the Advisor of the Minister of Finance. We spent about 30 minutes of the flight between Lampung and Jakarta on the continuation of this program; and the sustainability of the program in general.

BBI Prep for North Maluku

September 2022 edition of BBI will be carried out in North Maluku — a province surrounding Northern Moluccas islands. Northern Moluccas was once a central source of global trade even since the Roman era. But currently the economy of this area is not so significant comparing to other areas. With this BBI program, we intend to leverage the MSME economy in these islands.

The campaign manager of this program is The Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Kemendesa PDTT). The leader for this program is Ms Harlina Sulistyorini, the DG of Economy Development & Investment.

Telkom will support this program by providing MSME build up program (in collaboration with BNI and other state-owned enterprises) integrated with digital business transformation for the MSME, and a virtual expo to display and promote curated MSME products.

P3DN Business Matching & SME Expo

In Nusa Dua area of Bali Island, the GoI carried out a business matching event for three days (22-24 March 2022) between Ministries, Govt Institutions, and Local Government on one side, and national industries and SME on the other side. This event also exhibited some national industry associations (organised by Ministry of Industry) and SME (organised by Ministry of Coop & SME).

I will write about the business matching some other time. But the exhibition itself is interesting. Here we displayed nationwide technology-focused entrepreneurs, scoping from weaponry simulation, health facility instruments, tools for agroindustry, and many others.

The Minister of Coop & SME, Mr Teten Masduki, personally visited and talked to the local entrepreneurs. He emphasise the importance of the local industry to improve the quality and production capacity to match the market demand. Also, for the platforms like PADI UMKM, he addressed that such system should be used as a gateway for SMEs to be listed at national industry catalogue to be linked to the market where Ministries etc are targeted to spend 500 trillion rupiah this year.
